Post-procedure instructions for angiography

Check the puncture site daily

Call our office if you experience any unusual pain, swelling or bright red bleeding

A small bruise and/or "lump" is not unusual at the insertion site

You may shower after 12 hours and wash the site gently with soap and water

Limit strenuous activity for 3-5 days

Do not drive a car for 24 hours

No heavy lifting greater than 20 pounds for the next 1-2 days

Avoid excessive bending at the hips and stooping for the next 1-2 days

Schedule a follow-up visit in our office in the next 2 weeks

 

Post-procedure instructions for surgery
 

Watch for signs and symptoms of infection (such as a fever greater than 101 degrees, chills, increased
redness, or pus draining from the incision site)

If you experience any of these or bleeding at the incision site, CALL CVSD @ 919-235-3400

If you had surgery on your
aorta, you should avoid heavy lifting (over 10 pounds) for 4-6 weeks after surgery

If you had surgery on your leg, avoid bending for 4-6 weeks

Avoid strenuous activity for 4-6 weeks after surgery

Do not drive until the doctor gives approval

Do not return to work until the doctor gives approval
